Behind the gun was a cowardly maniac, and behind the killer lay the forces of evil taking yet another shot at the truth. The gun was not responsible, the shooter was. Any sentence less than death would be criminal. But Satan was the real mastermind behind this crime, and he left his devilish fingerprints all over this despicable act. He hates the truth because he is a liar. This was not merely a political attack as so many claim. It was a blatant attack on liberty and the timeless truth of the Bible which Charlie stood for.
Charlie was hated for his stand. Darkness always hates the light, and we shouldn’t be surprised when the ungodly lash out. “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12)
God can providentially use this tragedy to trigger the rise of untold thousands to courageously stand like Charlie did. This shot on the campus of Utah Valley University ought to start a stampede of believers back to the Bible and back to local Bible-believing churches. Far too many Christians are sleeping in the pews—if they’re in church at all. Indifference plagues America, especially American Christians. Sadly, after the shock of tragedy fades, many people yawn, roll over, and return to their spiritual slumber.
The shot robbed Charlie Kirk of his life, his wife of her husband, his children of their father, and it robbed America and the world of a bold voice of truth, clarity, and common sense. But his death is not in vain.
It serves as rally cry to awaken courage in all who follow Christ. There are only two ways forward: shrink in silence of being another target or stand up and unashamedly speak the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ like never before.
Charlie’s death can be the turning point to ignite more bold advocates for the truth. It’s time for the true church of God to stand in the gap. You don’t need the popularity of Charlie Kirk to be a difference-maker. Let his life of courage and faith in Christ be the spark that ignites a wave of revival among the sleepy church of God.
When the spineless maniac pulled the trigger, he forgot one thing: truth does not die. The powers of evil plotted against Charlie’s life, but they cannot destroy the truth Charlie courageously stood for. If this shot heard around the world doesn’t wake you, what will? It’s time to pick up the banner of truth and charge into battle. May Charlie’s voice of truth Satan tried to silence be multiplied by ten thousand among the saints of God.
As you stand, remember the word of our Lord Jesus to His disciples, “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luke 12:4-5)
