If you’ve ever wondered, “Why am I here?” you’re not alone. God formed you in your mother’s womb, not only to live in time here on Earth but for all eternity. There will never be a time when you cease to exist. Your physical body, emotional soul, and eternal spirit are proof you are created in the image of God which means you are created with a specific purpose to fulfill. Until you fulfill the reason for which you were created, your search for fulfillment will be unsuccessful. God created you to know and love Him personally.
WHAT IS SALVATION?
Being saved can mean different things to different people. Some have been physically saved from cancer or financially saved from bankruptcy. However, salvation in the Bible is far more consequential. Our greatest need is to be saved from our sin which condemns us to eternity in Hell.
After God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve willfully chose to sin; severing their relationship with God. Their choice to sin against God’s command forfeited their closeness with their Creator. Was there anyway God could redeem fallen humanity back to Himself?
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12, italics mine)
THE SOURE OF SALVATION
Before sin entered the human race, God had a plan, but it came with an immense price. God allowed Himself to be born into humanity through the virgin Mary, to offer His own innocent blood in the place of guilty sinners on the cross. The Giver of life gave His life. But death was no match and He triumphed over the tomb. Through Christ, every human being can be redeemed from the curse of sin and enjoy fellowship with their Creator once again. But the choice is personal.
Many people are on an endless pursuit of what makes them happy only to discover that nothing in this world can make them happy. The greatest purpose of your life is to know God personally by believing on the Son of God—Jesus Christ. The Son of God is the exclusive way to eternal life in Heaven. It is God’s will is for everyone to place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. A choice only you can make.
“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4, italics mine)
SALVATION CAN’T BE BOUGHT
The Bible is clear that salvation is not obtainable by good works or acts of service. In His famous sermon on the mount, Jesus spoke of people who sacrificially served in God’s name, but will be eternally barred from Heaven. Why? Because they did not His will of receiving His salvation through His Son.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21, italics mine)
You may zealously devote yourself to religion, organizations, charities, community service, and other noble causes. But none of these things can save you from eternal condemnation in a literal Hell. Jesus also taught that salvation doesn’t come by physical relatives who know and love Christ. It’s not your bloodline that saves you; it the sinless blood of Christ that makes forgiveness possible.
“For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” (Matthew 12:50, italics mine)
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Only One can save, and His name is Jesus. God has accomplished everything necessary for your salvation, but He leaves the choice to receive His gift of salvation up to you. Only those who do
the will of God, are born into His family. God’s will for you is to call upon Him by repenting of your sin. Repentance is humbly and sincerely admitting you are a sinner and turning to Christ alone to save you from your sin.
GOD IS WAITING FOR YOU
The Scriptures clearly teach Jesus came the first time as a baby in Bethlehem, but there are eight times as many Scriptures reminding us He’s coming again as King. Why the delay? The answer is simple and shocking. You are the reason. God is extending more time for the lost to repent of sin and believe on Jesus Christ. He personally knows the horror of Hell and mercifully chooses to give you more time to repent and trust in Him. If you do not have the assurance of Heaven, you are the reason Christ delays His coming.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, italics mine)
Don’t delay, you will stand before Jesus one day. If you have never truly received the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ, God is waiting for you. He longs to have close fellowship with you and is patiently waiting for you to respond to His invitation. Please respond before it’s too late.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20 italics mine)
Salvation is God’s will for you and Jesus Christ is the One and Only qualified to give it. It can’t be found anywhere else. The only way to discover and enjoy more of God’s magnificent will for your life, you must first receive His gift of salvation. Fulfilling God’s will doesn’t start with an education, a marriage, a career, a house, or a car; it all begins with receiving salvation.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
If you are ready to rid yourself of the weight of sin, and received Christ as your Savior, do not delay. To receive the gift of eternal life, you must request it. If you would like to make this most important decision and receive eternal life, know that God is waiting to hear from you.
Lord Jesus,
I confess that I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God and that He died on the cross for me. I believe Jesus was buried and rose again three days later from the dead. By faith I now receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I give my life to You and trust Your perfect plan. Thank you for giving me the gift of salvation.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
