The Montgomery’s Adventures
Proclaiming the gospel through aviation evangelism
May 2026 by Dale L. Montgomery

The last few months have been a whirlwind of major life changes and adjustments for our whole family. By faith, we listed our house for sale in January, and it was under contract within the week. Over the past several months, we can clearly see the Lord guiding our steps, opening doors of opportunity, and confirming His call to aviation evangelism.

The day we finished cleaning the house, we enjoyed some much needed family time on Hilton Head Island to unwind from the intense weeks of packing, moving, and storing. We enjoyed playgrounds, kayaking, walking trails, playing board games, and the beautiful sights along the South Carolina coastline. It was a memorable and refreshing week for everyone.

Since our house sold, the Lord opened the door for me to go ahead and begin flight lessons at Savannah Corps Aviation while our church is still in transition searching for the next pastor. For the time, the Lord has seen fit to keep us here in the area. Please pray with us God will send the man of His choosing to be the next pastor to lead and to feed the flock of God at Savannah River Baptist Church.

While it was difficult to find a short term rental in the area, we are thankful God opened a door for us to rent a very nice apartment conveniently by the airport and near the flight academy. There’s a whole lot more to flying than most people realize, but it has been very rewarding to make learning progress and marvel at the aerial view of God’s breathtaking creation.

Over the past several weeks, God has opened many opportunities for us to visit churches in Savannah area to share our new ministry of aviation evangelism. We are grateful for the privilege to preach the precious gospel of Christ, and to edify these local churches through Christ-centered music and biblical preaching.

We so enjoyed being a part of the missions conference at Bethel Baptist Church and the kindness of Pastor and Mrs. Brian Cooper and their wonderful church family. We are thankful for the opportunity to minister at Rincon Baptist Temple and Pastor and Mrs. Joe Springer during their missions month. The Lord allowed us to share our aviation ministry on the opening night of the missions conference at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Spencer. I enjoyed preaching in a Christian school chapel service at Faith Christian Academy at the invitation of Pastor Terry Sellars. We were privileged to minister at Temple Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia with Pastor and Mrs. Thomas Green for their missions month. It was wonderful to see two people receive Christ their Savior in the morning service. Our family was able to participate in the missions Sunday of Northside Baptist Church in Pembroke, Georgia with Pastor and Mrs. Jason Isclaw. A couple from their church graciously purchased a high-quality flight jacket for me to fly in the cooler aerial temperatures. We so enjoyed the time at Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church this past Sunday and rejoice in the salvation of a man who was a young husband and a new father. With tears in his eyes he told me how the Holy Spirit used the Bible message to speak directly to him about his need for salvation. We are grateful for Pastor and Mrs. Brian Patrick and their whole family for their friendship and the wonderful times of fellowship. A huge thanks to everyone who lifts us up in prayer as we follow the Lord’s leading in this new season of life and ministry. We look forward to sharing more of our exciting adventure of faith!
